Apple Cider Vinegar and Other Natural Remedies For Acid Reflux

Suffering from acid reflux could absolutely be bothersome and no one would want to harbor the condition for long. It may sound quite simple but feeling that discomfort in your tummy and your throat could be quite crippling.

You lose the energy and the motivation to go on with your day because you feel like you are going to throw up any moment.

This condition can be treated by conventional medicines but there are also natural cures for acid reflux. If you are a believer of natural health, then there is nothing wrong in resorting to natural ways in treating your acid reflux. Sometimes also called as gastroesophageal reflux or GERD, acid reflux could primarily be treated by using apple cider vinegar.

You may have raised your eyebrow as you read that last sentence. Is it really one of the natural cures for acid reflux? Treating acid level abnormality using an acidic substance definitely sounds counter-productive, right? However, many people who tried it attest to the good results. They say that symptoms could be significantly controlled by taking apple cider vinegar. Now, what you have to do is shake up the vinegar and take one tablespoon before each meal. You can expect some results in three days although you would have to continue doing the routine until the symptoms are completely gone.

Using aloe vera is also one of the natural cures for acid reflux. In fact, the aloe vera juice has been used as natural remedy for GERD in Europe for many years. What you must do is take a quarter of a cup of it twenty minutes before having a meal. This will help soothe your irritated and inflamed esophagus.

This kind of juice is available in natural food stores. Purchase one which says juice or gel for internal use. Do not try to extract the aloe vera leaf yourself. Aside from it being thorny, it also contains aloe latex which is a strong laxative. You don't need this function, right?

Other natural cures for acid reflux are licorice and ginger. With licorice, what you must do is take two doses of 250-milligram capsules before eating. It is best to slowly dissolve them in your mouth rather than taking them with water. On the other hand, ginger capsules may be taken twenty minutes before each meal. If you are not comfortable with the capsules, you can opt for ginger candies or pickled ones.

However, if you are strong enough, using fresh ginger root is really the best way.
