Acid reflux, a digestive condition is known and studied by professionals to have no cure however it is preventable as well as relievable for those who are suffering from it. There are ways to getting rid of it and helping one lessen the symptoms of it as well as heartburn problems.
Two ways can be done to prevent or relieve one from heartburn problems and acid reflux, either through medical means like drugs or through natural means.
Medication
Medications that address heartburn symptoms and acid reflux are those that are prescribed by doctors and one known med are antacids. Antacids work through neutralizing the adverse effects of gastric acids present in the stomach. However, antacid are only prescribed for short term use as these may have adverse effects to the body’s digestion process.
One example of prescribed heartburn medication is called the “proton-pump inhibitor” which acts by blocking directly acid production of stomach cells.
As already stated above, the use of these drugs is short term only because it does not significantly help in targeting the real cause of this condition and also these drugs are not sold cheap, ask your physician about its effects to your body.
Natural Remedies
Another technique that one can do is to use natural means of heartburn remedy. These are safe and quite effective same as medicating the good thing is that you don’t get to spend much money on these remedies as these are all natural. The things that you will need are the following, fennel, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, honey, and peppermint oil, all of which can be found in stores and supermarkets.
The peppermint oil ingredient is a natural antacid that quickly relieves heartburn symptoms. Water and baking soda is also a natural remedy to lessen acid reflux but only to be taken in minimal amounts as it is known to cause one of high blood pressure and other health conditions. Another mixture that is also best to relieve heartburn is a combination of 2 tsp of honey mixed in one cup of water together with the apple cider vinegar. This is effective to be taken after dinner time to prevent heartburn problems during the night time as it often occurs during these hours. Fennel on the other hand is a type of herb that is an effective natural heartburn remedy.
As previously discussed with taking medications, natural remedies do not cure heartburn symptoms as it does not targets the real cause of these symptoms, it only helps one lessen from the pain and discomforts that these symptoms bring.
